Kickoff Nodify project

News

Today we officially kicked off a new research collaboration between STAMAGRO and VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology.

In this project, we combine Stamagro’s expertise in protein hydrolysis and the valorisation of protein by products from the food industry with leading knowledge of the rhizosphere group of Prof. Sofie Goormachtig in beneficial plant–microbe interactions.

Our shared focus: the development of plant signalling molecules derived from poultry proteins, applied as a seed treatment to strengthen the interaction between legumes (such as soybean) and nitrogen-fixing bacteria.
The ambition is clear: higher yields with lower nitrogen input — a concrete contribution to the protein transition and to reducing the environmental footprint of synthetic nitrogen use.
We look forward to sharing insights as the project moves forward.
